Vicorder (Cardiovascular & Haemodynamics)
Non-invasive central aortic blood pressure and arterial stiffness.
The Vicorder provides non-invasive measurement of peripheral and central blood pressures in combination with haemodynamic parameters and arterial stiffness.
Pulse Wave Velocity
Arterial pulse waveforms are recorded using PVR (pulse volume recording) measurements from a standard vascular cuff. The waveforms can be acquired in up to two sites simultaneously to provide pulse transit time (TT) and pulse wave velocity (PWV) measurements for the assessment of arterial stiffness. Typically the PWV is measured between the carotid and femoral arteries in a quick and highly reproducible technique that is operator independent. However, the Vicorder can be used on any limb e.g. brachial/ankle or brachial/wrist or alternatively the measurements can be taken using PPG (photo plethysmography) for graft assessments etc.

Pulse Wave Analysis
Central systolic blood pressure augmentation, peripheral resistance, MAP, SEVR, stroke volume and cardiac output can be measured in a single easy to use technique requiring no skilled users or expensive consumables. The PWA (pulse wave analysis) measurements are highly correlated to invasively measured and non-invasively measured pressures using the gold standard research tools in the UK.
